Choosing a compatible teacher is important!* I've spent the last 28 years living and breathing the electric bass guitar, most of those years teaching - aside from playing and recording professionally as Combinator. I LOVE helping students transition into colleagues! I teach in person lessons as well as Zoom, and strongly suggest in-person if you're in the Puget Sound region. All ages and skill levels welcome! $75/hr, $40/half. Learning a skill from a specializing tradesman is far more effective and targeted than working with someone who generalizes over a number of instruments or disciplines - like guitarists or pianists who "also teach bass." My teaching style is very friendly, personable, supportive and conversational, aside from the practical execution aspects. Lesson plans are created for each student individually, for every lesson. We'll go through all aspects of being a modern bassist - but a musician first: groove, articulation, theory, practical application, genre studies, reading music, advanced techniques and more!
