Meet Ryland: Guitar/Piano/Bass/Ukulele Teacher - Music Producer, Composer and Songwriter Education: The Juilliard School in New York City B.M. in Jazz Studies with a focus in Bass and Composition Highlights: • Taught lessons for over 8 years • Music Producer, Composer and Songwriter • Performed at notable venues including The Blue Note, The Highline Ballroom, and The Kennedy Center About Ryland: My name is Ryland. I am a guitarist/bassist/pianist currently residing in Los Angeles. At Juilliard I studied jazz bass with Ben Wolfe and Dennis Irwin and studied classical bass with David Grossman and Orin O'Brien of the NY Philharmonic. I also studied composition with David Berger as well as piano with Mike LeDonne and Ted Rosenthal. I enjoy teaching students of all ages from beginning to advanced levels. I also enjoy helping students acquire the skills to learn the songs they are interested in. I have also taken numerous students from their first lesson to their first recital or performance with a band. I am passionate about many different styles of music and composition. I am always searching for new music and innovative sounds to learn from and for inspiration. I also enjoy teaching music theory and giving people the tools to write their own music.
