Emily Allina practices as a Family Nurse Practitioner at San Diego Sports Medicine & Family Health Center - Urgent Care (SDSM). She received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from Indiana University in 2001 and has since worked in a variety of settings as an RN, including in the ER and urgent care settings. She received her Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) from California State University, Dominguez Hills, in 2011. Her area of academic concentration was Family Nurse Practitioner. Since graduation, she has continued to practice in the ER, has spent months working aboard a ship, and joined Anderson Medical Center in 2016 before it merged with SDSM in 2017. "While practicing in the ER and retaining my love for treating acutely ill and injured individuals, I have also discovered the amazing benefits and professional satisfaction that comes with establishing patient relationships in the urgent care/primary care setting. I engage in preventative healthcare education as part of my daily practice, and I enjoy working with patients as a team to find the most safe and effective (and hopefully least invasive) treatment for their acute or chronic issues. I am a strong advocate for complementary medicine, which can be utilized in conjunction with the traditional medical model to achieve the best possible outcome for my patients."
